As tools become an increasing need for an efficient workflow, New Republic ditched their old CMS and pursued to create their own custom CMS. During our discovery sessions and user interviews, we quickly realized writers and editors found CMS tooling complex and overwhelming. We decided to create concepts that would push our editors to think beyond the CMS and layer in tools that would work in parallel with their workflows.
